This is actually a super late post. Allan's birthday was eleven days ago!
Anyway, this topic has been on my draft for almost two weeks now. Thank God I got the chance to finish it today.
So, how did we celebrate my husband's birthday? You know how simple our family is. I made a special breakfast for the three of us then we headed off to the mall for lunch. Trev had a chance to play at Kevin's Toys & Library again, too! And guess what, I was able to buy donuts from J. Co Donuts! Yay! At long last! :D
All these stories and more on the coming posts. Stay tuned! :-)
Meanwhile, here's what I cooked for breakfast. Of course, since it's my beloved husband's birthday, I made it extra special! I cooked Spaghetti Aglio Olio! The first time we had a taste of this pasta dish was when we ate at Pizza Hut. Unfortunately, we didn't like the taste because the garlic was so strong for our standard. But I thought I could give it a chance and maybe search for some modified recipes. I cooked mine with mushrooms and tuna flakes. Also, I made sure that the garlic was just right and not too strong. Everybody happy! Even Trev liked his bowl of spaghetti too. Yipee!
This pasta dish is very easy to make. I just sauteed the garlic in olive oil, making sure not to totally brown the garlic. Then I added the mushroom, tuna and olives. Seasoned it with salt and pepper. Technically, everything's cooked already so I just waited for a few minutes to heat everything. Then I added it to the cooked spaghetti. I served it with parmesan cheese and basil leaves. It's done! Easy and delish! Yey! ♥
By the way, I set aside some for Trev without the tuna. Not that I don't want Trev to eat tuna, it's just that I don't want him to eat food with lots of preservatives. So I opted not to add tuna to his spaghetti. All good!

ReplyDeleteI love pasta, too! Just wonder if this comes with cream or plain? Is it similar to carbonara?
ReplyDeletehappy birthday to your husband! :)
ReplyDeletePasta dishes are my favorite to cook since they can be tweaked in so many ways. I like experimenting with cooking but sometimes my hubby turns up his nose at new ways of cooking. Hehe!
