I was doing my usual rounds for BC Bloggers' CommEx last week when I chanced upon DavaoMommy's post about Baby Rhory. I was so sure I saw the same post somewhere. Then I remembered I saw it too at Chronicles of A Nursing Mom's wall on FB. Honestly, I didn't pay attention to the FB post the first time I saw it because I was rushing to do something else although I made a mental note to check back on that post again.. When I was done with my tasks, I totally forgot about that post. My bad. Good thing that Maan of Davao Mommy posted it on her blog. I read the story of the little baby and I found out that Baby Rhory badly needs all the help we could give.

Friends, her name is Rhory Mae Gallardo. She was born prematurely at only 29 weeks. Her mommy died to give her life during childbirth. Baby Rhory is only 700 g when she was born.
She is in need of baby clothes, diapers, and all a newborn baby may need. She also needs breastmilk. I wanted so badly to share my breastmilk but apparently, mine is no longer suited for her needs as a newborn as my breastmilk is for a 21 month old toddler.
If you are a breastfeeding mom with a baby less than 6 months old, we hope you could donate for Baby Rhory. Other donations and other forms of help are gladly appreciated and accepted.
I am writing this post to ask for your help and knock on your kind hearts so we could help Baby Rhory in whatever way we can. You can also visit the blog Davao Garage for more details on how you can extend help.

As of July 11, 2013: Here's a brief update from Dra. Karen Alabado about Baby Rhory and the bank account where generous sponsors can deposit donations:
"The account is also now under the name of the baby's daddy- Jesse James Gallardo. I am happy to tell you that baby Rhory is now off antibiotics and off her ventilator again. She was not okay last weekend, during her mommy's burial up to the 9th day. She is feeding on 11cc of breastmilk and seems to be gaining weight. Will post pics soon. She still has enough bm to last her a full month, the nurses will let us know if she's low on her supply. -- Dra. Karen Alabado"Thank you to all those who extended their help, especially to the moms who donated breastmilk. Glad to know that Baby Rhory seems to be gaining weight already. I hope to hear more good news about her.
