Happiness in Baking

One thing that kept me very busy, aside from my being a full time nanay, is home baking. I don't know when it started basta one day, I realized I was into it already. All I remember was that I saw a video (or was it a photo?) of a Korean flower cake. Do you know those cakes with buttercream piped flowers? Those ones. I knew I wanted to try doing it, too. I just fell in love with it.

So, my baking journey began and I started watching videos and googling instructions and tutorials on how to pipe buttercream flowers. I even attended workshops just to learn more about it. I am just so thankful that I have a very supportive husband who tells me to just go and do it. Whatever makes me happy.

Bento Caravan Flower Cake
One of the swiss buttercream flower cakes I made a few months back. I am really so inlove with Korean flower piping.

To date, I have done several flower cakes already. Some were gifts I gave to friends and relatives. Others were orders from me. Yes, I do accept cake orders from time to time but I just couldn't do it full time at the moment. But nonetheless, baking, aside from bento-making, makes me happy. I hope to be able to learn more in the coming days.

Baking is really a nice hobby, don't you think? What other hobbies can a stay at home mom like me do with my family? Hmm, maybe learn an instrument? I honestly don't know how to play a single instrument. Learning to play a guitar would be great! Well, that would wait for the mean time as we have yet to look for one maybe at guitar center eugene.

Do you bake, too? What do you like to bake?
